Ever since I was a boy I've been captivated by systems, the infinite ways in which we can organize things and why certain methods are preferable to others when attempting to manage a set of characteristics. This intense fascination has acted on the course of my life like an outboard motor with a stuck throttle on the stern of a boat, propelling me ever onward in search of more nuanced understanding of how things interact.

It seems long overdue that I made an effort to be a regular contributor to this site which has so often been a catalyst for my learning.
