On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Full elections have three phases and an optional fourth phase (Primary):

  1. Question Collection
  2. Nomination
  3. Primary
  4. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

Well, I am not really sure if I can be a good moderator, but since it seems that there is a lack of candidates I decided to step in.

I am part of this group since its inception. I read a lot of ebooks, I wrote some (usually with Sigil: I know enough XHTML and CSS to be able to work at source level). Moreover, I know very well the problems of online communication, so I should be able to act reasonably.

Anyway, I assure that if I won't be elected I won't cry :-)

I thoroughly believe that eBooks are further gaining in importance. Even as the pace of this SE board is currently rather slow, there are quite some relevant resources to be found across the Questions and Answers already.

Seeing, that the major part of moderation is currently put on the shoulders of a single moderator seems to be a non-ideal situation in my eyes.
Don't get me wrong: Jason is doing a great job in here! I just think we could reduce the Bus-Factor a little.

Therefore, I'd like to nominate myself as a moderator for Ebooks.SE

I'm an active part of the StackExchange network for more than 7 years so far, covering a range of interesting topics across SE sites.

Although I haven't accumulated that much reputation here on Ebooks.SE yet, I did spend a significant amount of time on hundreds of Reviews on Ebooks.SE as well as a couple of thousand reviews across the whole SE Network.

I'd happily join and support the moderation team on Ebook.SE.

This election is over.
